This 12-night liveaboard adventure sails from Sorong in West Papua to Ternate in North Maluku, covering some of Indonesia’s most remarkable diving destinations. From the manta-rich waters of Raja Ampat’s Dampier Strait and the iconic coral gardens of Penemu, to the limestone peaks of Wayag and the historic wrecks of Morotai, this route combines world-famous dive sites with rarely visited gems.

 

Expect thrilling drift dives, pristine hard coral reefs, schools of barracuda and trevally, manta rays, reef sharks, turtles, WWII wrecks, and fascinating macro life. This itinerary is perfect for divers who want to experience both Raja Ampat classics and North Maluku exploration.

Program

 

Sorong – Ternate

12 nights / 13 Days / Up to 40 Dives

Day 1 - Embarkation, Sorong

Board the vessel in Sorong. Once port formalities are completed, we set sail for Friwin in Dampier Strait (approx. 40 NM).

Day 2 – Dampier Strait

Check dive at Friwin followed by Cape Kri and Sawandarek. Expect lush coral gardens, turtles, trevally, barracuda, reef sharks, and wobbegong.
Night dive: Sawandarek.

Day 3 – Mansuar / Gam

Drift with mantas at Manta Ridge, then dive Mayhem and Pretty Shallow for reef sharks, schools of fish, pygmy seahorses, and nudibranchs.
Night dive: Pretty Shallow.

Day 4 – Penemu

Two dives at Melissa’s Garden, one of the best hard coral gardens on earth, plus Keruo Channel with napoleon wrasse and turtles.
Night dive: Galaxy, with crustaceans and the chance of a walking shark.

Day 5 – Kawa

Explore Eagle Rock, Black Rock, and Eight Figure Rock with mantas, wobbegong, sweetlips, and macro critters.
Night dive: Wayag Bay.

Day 6 – Wayag

Morning trek to the famous Wayag viewpoint. Afternoon dives at Wayag Rock and Far Out Rock, featuring sharks, parrotfish, and dramatic underwater topography.
Night dive: Wayag Bay.

Day 7 – Sayang

Relaxed dives at Bump Head Reef and Sayang Channel with bumphead parrotfish, turtles, and macro life. Afternoon cruising north towards Morotai.

Day 8 – Morotai

Dives at Rainbow Ridge and Pulau Kecil with reef sharks, turtles, and vibrant fish life.
Night dive: Pulau Kecil.

Day 9 – Morotai

Dive Womow Reefs and Black Tip Point (a thrilling shark dive).
Night dive: Metita House Reef with walking sharks and crustaceans.

Day 10 – Kolorai

Highlights include The Canyon, Susi Wreck, and Kolorai Reef with abundant coral life. Night dive: Kolorai Reef.

Day 11 – Doi

Dives at Jackpot, Wonderwall, and The Boulder – ridges, caverns, and buzzing marine life from reef sharks to tuna.
Night dive: The Boulder.

Day 12 – Loloda

Final dives at Kahatola Channel and Sidanga Passage, drift dives with reef sharks, turtles, fusiliers, and snapper. Optional waterfall excursion.

Day 13 – Disembarkation, Ternate

After breakfast, disembark in Ternate with unforgettable memories of this cross-regional voyage.

This Sorong – Ternate expedition combines the biodiversity of Raja Ampat with the adventurous spirit of North Maluku. Divers will enjoy manta encounters, pristine coral gardens, pelagic action, WWII wrecks, and unique macro discoveries on one incredible journey.

 

This itinerary is a sample and may be adjusted based on weather conditions, local regulations, or other operational considerations. The final route, timing, and selected activities are at the discretion of the Captain and Cruise Director, who will always prioritize guest safety and strive to provide the best possible experience throughout the trip.
